A Morning of Printmaking at the Historic Harlan Hubbard Studio and Nature Preserve

  • Harlan Hubbard Studio and Nature Preserve 129 Highland Avenue Fort Thomas, KY, 41075 United States (map)

Come join the Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy’s

Artist in Residence, Elizabeth Ross, for a fun morning of printmaking!

Saturday, October 21 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

129 Highland Avenue in Fort Thomas

Harlan Hubbard, “Kentucky’s Thoreau,” was not only a wonderful painter but an accomplished printmaker as well. Harlan carved by hand scenes of nature and his beloved Ohio River into woodblocks, which he then inked, and from which “pulled” prints onto paper. Elizabeth Ross has been carving and pulling prints in the same manner for a decade and would love to share the joy and satisfaction of printmaking with you! Absolutely no artistic talent required!

Participants will be able to pull their own print from the hand carved linoleum block depicting the historic Harlan Hubbard studio, thus creating a one-of-a-kind, limited-edition print of their own to keep. Elizabeth will also be bringing several of her other nature themed blocks from which you can print. Each participant will be going home with the Harlan Hubbard Studio print as well as 2-4 smaller prints.

A donation of $15 for FTFC members and $20 for non-members is required and all proceeds benefit the Harlan Hubbard Studio and Nature Preserve.
